Tilework on the ceiling of Yang Xin Dian is in need of restoration. Info from plaque of Yang Xin Dian:
Yang Xin Dian (Hall of Mental Cultivation)
Yang Xin Dian was buit in 1537 and repaired during the Qing Emperor Yongzheng's reign. The "I" shaped buildings are divded into two part---the Front Hall and the Rear Hall. Following the Emperor Yongzheng's bedchamber was moved to the Rear Hall, the Central Room and the West Room of the Front Hall were changed into the place where the emperor handled the routine affairs, reviewed memoranda and received his officials.
The East Room was where the Empress Dowagers Cixi and Ci'An took charge of state affairs behind a screen when the Emperors Tongzhi and Quangxu were in their childhood. It was also here that the Qing last emperor Puyi convened the Presence Meeting and made the decision of abdication after the revolution of 1911 broke out.
