Statue of Xuanzang, the meritorious hierarch who went on a 17-year trip to India and back bringing many Buddhist artifacts and writings from India back to China. He was the first abbot of the Da Ci'en Temple and supervised the building of the pagoda. His statue is in the Northern Square of the Da Ci'en Temple complex. Xuanzang lived 602/603 - 664 CE in the Tang Dynasty.
