petroglyphs at Arches National Park

Notice anything in the bottom quarter of the image? If not, scroll down to close-ups of what is on the dark-stained rocks. Image taken in late July 2013. This image is 28% size of the original.

Petroglyphs

Petroglyphs etched into the dark-stained rocks. I boosted the contrast a bit to make them show up easier. Also a polarizing lens filter helped bring out the petroglyphs. Otherwise, they would have been much more washed from the sunlight reflection off of the stained surface.

petroglyphs

Even closer view of the petroglyphs. Other petroglyphs will be shown in the next pages. This image and the one on the left are 21% size of the original.
