These trees are around a couple of hundred years old and they have adapted to the conditions of their envirnonment by twisting around and spreading into these tortured shapes. All of the pictures were taken in August 2002.
For really big and OLD trees there is no other place than California! For these pictures, keep in mind that the images are T-A-L-L! All of the pictures of the redwoods were taken in the summer of 2003.

Images of some of the waterfalls in Silver Falls State Park in Oregon taken in July 2007. This state park has a number of very beautiful falls and hiking trails. Several of the trails go behind the falls under the rock overhang.
