Standing on the observation platform outside of the Jansky Building that houses the staff astronomers and engineers offices and labs, telescope operations facilities, and meeting rooms. From here you get a good view of the Robert C Byrd Green Bank Telescope (GBT), the world's largest steerable single-dish telescope. In the foreground is a test panel for the GBT used to test paint coatings for radio reflectivity. An up-close tour of the GBT is at the last half of this tour. For now, let's continue on with the other telescopes and facilities.
