The automatic reeling machine. Here's the plaque info (I cleaned up the "Chi-nglish" as much as I could):
Automatic Silk Reeling
The automatic reeling machine replaces the human hand and eye in carrying out the operations of silk end brushing, picking and adding cocoons. It has higher output per unit hour than the manual reeling. The automatic reeling machine is made of two parts: headstock and body. The headstock does the brushing and picking, i.e., to find and break down the cocoon to find the end of the strand making the cocoon. Then it feeds the cocoon into the cocoon supplier that is the track alongside the machine body. The machine body adds cocoons via the "perception system" that is the hands and eyes of the machine. When the cocoon silk begins to run out, the "perception system" sends a signal to add more cocoons to the cocoon supplier that then adds cocoons via the responding lever to the brushing level and to the end-adding rod.
